About Odd Fellows: The International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) is an international fraternal and charitable organization. The IOOF was established in the United States in 1819 and has 10,000 lodges in 26 countries.

As an organization, the IOOF, or Odd Fellows, aims to provide a framework that promotes personal and social development. The command of the IOOF is to“visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan.”  Specifically, IOOF members today are dedicated to the following purposes:

  • To improve and elevate the character of mankind by promoting the principles of friendship, love, truth, faith, hope, charity and universal justice.

  • To help make the world a better place to live in, by aiding each other, the community, the less fortunate, the youth and the elderly.

  • To promote good will and harmony amongst peoples and nations through the principle of universal fraternity, holding the belief that all men and women regardless of race, nationality, religion, social status, gender, rank and station are brothers and sisters.

The IOOF was the first national group to include both men and women. The rules of the IOOF prohibit sectarian, religious or political discussion during meetings which would detract from the goals of the IOOF.

About Lodge 442: The mission statement of Lodge 442 is: “ “We are a Fraternal, Social and Charitable Organization dedicated to supporting one another and our community.” Lodge 442 was chartered Van Nuys, California on December 12, 1919. The lodge relocated to Simi Valley, California in 2018.

We are expecting this year to be a time of growth for the lodge and are always open for new members.  We intend to continue to enjoy each other's company, meet new people, and to be active in our community. Lodge 442 typically meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. If you want to be of service to your community and enjoy the fellowship like-minded people, consider applying for membership into Lodge 442.
